Descriptive Note
The Palmerston North Heritage Trust was set up in 1997 under the auspices of the Palmerston North City Council with the main object of encouraging public awareness of the need to develop, maintain and preserve archival material and other records of historical significance connected with, or relating to, the city of Palmerston North and the surrounding region.
Records, which are maintained by the Ian Matheson City Archives, exist from the setting up of a community group to administer the Trust in 2003.
