Descriptive Note
These documents are arranged in drawer numbers and plan numbers (eg 1/xx to 23/xx) described on the index cards in series KCC3/14/1 (series is not complete). Each drawer includes both numbered and un-numbered documents in accordance with the filing system which existed at the time the maps and plans were transferred to the custody of Palmerston North City Council in 1989.
NB - Drawers 1 to 6 are related to geographical areas, while drawers 7 to 31 refer to specific places and subjects.
Structure: Numbered and unnumbered maps and plans. KCC ordered the plans according to drawer number. This is recorded on the Other ID section, with the old drawer number replaced with the same number and folder preceding it (ie Drawer 4 becomes Folder 4) and all plans stored in the original order delegated by KCC.
