A sample of questionaires and other traffic survey data compiled in 1963 during the preparation of the City’s first traffic management plan (the proposed Transportation Plan of 1964 – see series 4/17/2). This material has been retained because Palmerston North was the first local authority in New Zealand to undertake a detailed traffic survey and the transportation plan of 1964 was regarded as a model of its kind.
