The estimates cover a complete financial year (1 April – 31 March), while the statements cover quarterly periods during each financial year (first quarter to 30 June, second quarter to 30 September, third quarter to 31 December). After 1973 quarterly statements of actual income and expenditure can be found in the records of the Town Clerk’s Department in the Report Book (Series 1/4/3 and 1/4/4 and Series 1/5/5, file 14/4/1). After 1980 the annual estimates can be found in Series 2/2/2
