Descriptive Note

S.F. (site file) system. Subject files relating to specific parcels of land (sites), identified by street address. The files are arranged in numerical order (commencing and 100), with each number being prefixed by the letters S.F. (site file). Contain correspondence, reports, minutes and newspaper cuttings relating to Conditional Use applications, Specified Departure applications and other planning issues. The files were maintained by the Records Office of the Town Clerkâ€™s Department, but were used mainly by the staff of the City Plannerâ€™s Department. This system was created in 1973 and continued in operation until 1994, when it was replaced by the block-numeric classification system created by the records Office of City Enterprises Unit.
