Copy of an illuminated manuscript created to celebrate the visit of General Sir Ian S M Hamilton, Inspector General of Oversea Forces to Palmerston North. Dated May 1914. Signed on behalf of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of Palmerston North by James Alfred Nash, Mayor, David Buick, MP, and William Harold Collingwood, Town Clerk.
Black and white copy. Manuscript shows various generic scenes from New Zealand and ornate border.
Mounted on thick board by The Crown Studios, The Square, Palmerston North.
The address was donated to the Palmerston North Library in 1977 by Mrs N. L. Paterson of Wellington (see Manawatū Evening Standard, 22 March 1977).
