Eight plans.
These plans were ordered by the Council on 20 August 1885 at a cost of ₤25, to replace a set which had been destroyed in the Town Hall fire of 4 August 1885. The earlier plans ere prepared by Armstrong at a cost of ₤30, (see "Manawatu Times" newspaper) 4 December 1884 page 2, 4 June 1885 page 2, 19 June 1885 page 8, July 1885 page 2, 7 August 1885 page 3 and 20 August 1885 page 2). These plans show the levels of all streets in the Borough and the location of all stormwater drains and watercourses. The index sheet also shows the levels of the Kawau and Mangaone Streams to the west of the Borough, together with the levels of Maxwells Line and Luxford’s Drain (between the Mangaone Stream and Awapuni Lagoon). These plans were prepared in order to provide basic data for the design of street works and drainage works financed by the Public Works Loan of ₤50,0000 (approved in 1885).
