Created by Robyn Wilson for a poster display at 2019 LIANZA Conference from October 21st – 23rd at the Vodafone Events Centre, Manukau – Auckland.
Materials: sourced from Hokowhitu Books and Craft, Dianne Southey provided technical assistance.
Texts and photographs are printed on fabric which has been machine-sewed to the background fabric. The black fabric and one knitted poppy are remnants from the ANZAC Quilt project.
Purpose: This poster quilt was designed to show the timeline creation of the ANZAC Quilt including public memories and reactions to the quilt’s creation.
Two of the quilts featured in the poster quilt are kept at the Ian Matheson City Archives: Images of Manawatū from Rose City Quilters (PNCC 35/2:4:1), and Manawatū 1990 by Elizabeth Berkahn (PNCC 35/2:3:1).
